Zirconium wires are made by drawing rods and tubes through a specialised wire drawing machine. Zirconium wire ranges from 0.75mm to 2mm diameters. Zirconium wires are most suitable for nuclear industries due to its high melting point and its ability to function at extremely high temperatures.
Zirconium wires are resistant to corrosion therefore it can be used with almost any acid. Zirconium wire is also used as soldering wire for other zirconium products and can be applied to electrodes, wire mesh, and spring. Zirconium wire is also used in healthcare industries like in zirconium implants.
